Molitor

Ébéniste de Louis XVI à Louis XVIII

Author

Bernard Molitor is a Luxembourg cabinetmaker who came to work in Paris. In the eighteenth century France is a true melting pot of arts. He is one of the last masters of the corporation to work for the king. He has one of the only workshops that the revolutionary storm will not be able to bring down. From the Directory to the Restoration, he kept an original style. His subjects of inspiration are influenced by the news, at the time of the Return of Egypt, but his manner remains Ancien Régime. Solid mahogany, precious woods serve the return to the Antique, favoring a sobriety of good quality.
