This catalogue raisonné, over 1100 illustrations, constitutes the second volume and represents the entire work of an artist devoted to nature, plants animals as well as the refinement of the table of the Court of Louis XV.
Started by the famous art historian, and curator of the musées de la Chasse, Georges de Lastic, this study has been achieved by Pierre Jacky, vice-president of the World’s Monuments Fund Europe, who made his thesis, on the subject in the Sorbonne.
Desportes paintings are present all over the world in the most famous museums as well as in pretigious private collections.
Desportes also made the preparatory drawings for the series of tapestries on the New Indies, woven in the Gobelins.
